WHAT YOU WILL FIND HERE

This is the blog section where you will find everything I write and some photos or videos about the trips I've made, the ones I want to do and some tips I've learnt on the way that while no universal law, may be useful.

It's salty! Desert chronicles. Day 4.

As it was predictable after the barbecue and the bonfire, I didn't get up early, so my plan of renting a bike and go to Death Valley in it was postponed, it will be tomorrow or it won't be at all.

So, I stayed at the hostel doing home life on my last day before turning 30 until it was time for my daily tour.

At 3 o'clock I was picked up. It's time to see the Atacama salt flats and Chaxa Lagoon, where there's a flamingo preservation area. But, before getting there, we stopped at the town of Toconao and another place whose name I can't remember.

Toconao's church shows the syncretism between Christianism and Atacamean cultures. Crucifixes, Andean animals and cactus wood coexist here
It's never a bad time for a photo of a llama, right?
The beautiful place which name I can't remember.

Ok, so now we're in our spot of the day. And actually, there's more to show than to tell. The lagoons become mirrors and I waited anxious for the sunset in this place surrounded by volcanoes. Suddenly, everything turned purple and the magic happened.

The salt flats and the volcanoes on the background.
Flamingos, volcanoes, the mirror lagoon and the purple light make this photo a postcard, right?
And here's an example of "travelling solo and the impossible mission of getting a decent picture taken".

On the way back to San Pedro I just stared at the sky that crowded the sky in a few minutes.

After having dinner and without much done in the whole day, my birthday arrived, first in Uruguay, an hour later in Chile. So, I went to the hostel bar to start my birthday but anonymously, just toasting with myself. I ran into Patricia and her German friends that were having a game night. That was how I ended playing cards with them, well, at least trying to play because I never understood the game they were playing despite Patricia's efforts to explain it to me. Of course I lost almost inmediately. A few beers afterwards I went to bed, because my special birhtday day starts at 6 am.
